New signings– Spurs have so far dragged their heels when it comes to transfers this summer with Harry Redknapp still chasing three players to add to his squad.
Star performer in pre-season – Rafael Van der Vaart scored two goals in South Africa last week and has been their stand out performer in pre-season.
Youngster watch – Midfielder Jake Livermore has been given time to shine in pre-season and put in an impressive performance against Brighton last time out whilst Danny Rose is also expected to be given a chance.
Title chance? – Not unless they make three top-class signings, even then, I just can’t see it.
Strengths – Gareth Bale will be looking to impress again this season whilst Aaron Lennon also enjoyed a fine season last time out. Luka Modric was a revelation in the last campaign and must be kept at the club should Spurs wish to progress.
Weaknesses – Their defence needs tightening up and they are also very vulnerable to counter-attack football with the amount of men they push forward.
What they need – A 20 goal a season striker – Fernando Llorente.
