Frenchman insists that the national team can call up the youngster, but maintains that there is no chance that the midfielder will take part in the game on Wednesday
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out the possibility of Jack Wilshere taking part in England's upcoming international friendly against the Netherlands on Wednesday.
The two sides play each other at Wembley just three days before the start of the Premier League season, and coach Fabio Capello's squad includes the young midfielder despite an injury.
The 19-year-old sustained an ankle problem that initially seemed serious, but the player himself has since played down the severity of the knock by insisting that he hopes to be back in "a few days."
Wenger, however, insists the midfielder will play no part against the Dutch on Wednesday.
"They can include him as much as they want," he said, according to the Mail On Sunday. "He won't play, simple as that. I wish he could."
Wilshere did not feature as Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat to Benfica in its last preseason friendly before the new campaign. Robin van Persie opened the scoring in the first half, before goals from Pablo Aimar and Nolito sealed the Eusebio Cup for the Portuguese side.
Wenger will be hopeful Wilshere is fit for the opening game of the season as the Gunners face Newcastle United at St James' Park on Saturday evening.
